What we service
Our technicians service and repair all makes and models — not only the brands we sell. That includes gas fireplaces, inserts and freestanding stoves, wood fireplaces and wood stoves, electric fireplaces, and ductless heat pumps (mini splits). If another company installed it, or the company that installed it is no longer in business, we can still look after it.
What an annual gas fireplace service includes
A ticketed gas fitter attends and carries out a full safety inspection and clean: testing the gas pressure and connections, checking the ignition system, pilot and thermocouple, cleaning the burner, logs and glass, inspecting the venting and gaskets, verifying the fan and controls, and confirming safe operation before leaving. Annual servicing of gas appliances is recommended by Technical Safety BC, and it is also what keeps most manufacturer warranties valid.
What a ductless heat pump service includes
Heat pump maintenance is more than swapping a filter. We clean the indoor coil and blower wheel, clear the condensate drain, check refrigerant charge and electrical connections, clean the outdoor unit and confirm the system is performing correctly in both heating and cooling. A neglected mini split loses efficiency quietly — you pay for it on the hydro bill long before the unit actually fails.
When to book
- Gas fireplaces — ideally in late summer or early autumn, before the first cold snap. Our schedule fills quickly once the weather turns.
- Heat pumps — spring or autumn, ahead of the seasons that work the system hardest.
- Anything not working properly — a pilot that won’t stay lit, a smell of gas (leave the house and call the gas emergency line first), soot on the glass, unusual noises, or a heat pump that has stopped keeping up.
